At the moment I’m mainly selling my paintings at my shop on etsy.com. I’m exploring other possibilities.

A typical scene at the Saturday market in Bremen’s main square.

I don’t usually like to paint tourist attractions, but I make an exception for the statue of Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten. Since we moved here to Bremen a couple years ago, I have mentally pictured it many times on a rainy day setting for a painting.

INTO THE SILENCE

This is a small wharf just next to the Weserstadion (home to Werder Bremen football club) along the Weser River. I always find it peaceful walking past these boats during atmospheric overcast days.

The street in this painting is Via dei Penitenzieri in Rome. I was in Rome for a day during a trip to Italy in 2023. I took some photos on this street because I really liked the colours and the rustic look of these buildings from a different time with giant windows and doorways.

I added the kids chasing soap bubbles to create a dreamy, almost surreal, scene. That was inspired by seeing kids who were really enthralled by soap bubbles made by street performers, somewhere else in Italy. The small stature of the children also creates a contrast with the huge openings of these buildings.
